One Million Step Challenge – Final Results!
After three months of walking, tracking, and cheering each other on, our One Million Step Challenge in support of Diabetes UK has officially come to an end! From 1st July to 30th September, our team set out to walk one million steps each – that’s over 10,800 steps a day – and we’re thrilled to share the final results.
First, a huge thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. Together, we raised an incredible £1,365 for Diabetes UK, helping fund vital research, education, and support for the 4.6 million people living with diabetes in the UK. Every donation made a difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
So, how did we do? The competition was fierce, and the commitment from the team was inspiring. Here’s the final leaderboard:
- 1st place – Dan: 1,307,167 steps
- 2nd place – Jack: 1,074,722 steps
- 3rd place – Arthur: 1,028,919 steps
- 4th place – Abi: 1,021,708 steps
- 5th place – Chris: 1,001,002 steps
- 6th place – Joe: 821,180 steps
- 7th place – Ollie: 667,743 steps
That means five out of seven team members smashed the one million step target – an amazing achievement! Collectively, we walked well over 6.9 million steps during the challenge.
Beyond the numbers, what really stood out was the enthusiasm and camaraderie. From early morning walks to evening strolls, weekend hikes, and even team walks in Upminster, everyone found creative ways to keep moving. It wasn’t just about hitting a target – it was about supporting a great cause and enjoying the journey together.
To celebrate our success, we gathered for a buffet lunch in the office on 30th September, sharing stories from the challenge and reflecting on what we’d accomplished. It was a fantastic way to wrap up three months of hard work and fun.
Thank you again to everyone who donated and cheered us on. This challenge has shown what we can achieve when we work together – and we’ve made a real difference for Diabetes UK. Here’s to the next team challenge!
